Who are you, at your core?
I, like many others, had been seeking my purpose. That “thing” that drives us, lights a person up, makes us do the things we do. Several times, I thought I had it. I’d done a lot of reflecting, had many incredible conversations, felt that tingle when you hit on something that resonates. The charge always fizzled pretty quickly though. Until recently that it is.
It came quietly. Sort of snuck up without me noticing. I found myself saying it in conversations when people asked who I was or what I was up to in my career. It always feels right and true and I get an immediate rush that lasts and lasts. And I have no fear around sharing it. That’s a big deal when something means so much to you. Not everyone’s gonna pick up what you’re laying down, or get you. Especially if you aren’t the “you” they got used to over the years.
What defines me, what is directing my choices in all areas of my life, is the belief that we, in our hearts, at our very core, are Love. That simple. We are LOVE. Every. Single. One. Of. Us. Connected to each other, the universe, the planet, God, however you may relate to or define that. And Love is our access to everything.
You are Love at your core
Everything I do in my life and will continue to create, personally and in business, comes from the believe that if you fall deeply in Love with yourself, you will be unrecognizably powerful. And I don’t mean the narcissistic, ego driven “love yourself”. I mean the kind that has you see the world differently. With love at your core, you see the world and everyone in it as connected and you as a part of the whole. Decisions you make will be for your best self and in service to others. How else could it possibly be if you are in love with YOU and at your core you are LOVE?
See, we’ve forgotten who we are. Everything that happened in our past created a fog that we can’t see through. And we keep looking out there for the answers when all of the answers are inside of us, not outside. It’s been a long journey away from our hearts. Are you ready to do the work it takes to know yourself as Love at your core? Have the experience of yourself as Love at your core for just one moment and you’ll know it’s worth it. See yourself for the beautiful, incredible gift that you are and you’ll know it’s worth it. Look at the world with the Love coloured glasses and you’ll know it’s worth it. I’ve chosen that journey and of course, I stumble at times. I forget who I am for a minute and I suffer. When I look inside and remember that at my core I am Love, the suffering stops.
I invite you along for the ride. Head back towards the heart. Head back to Love. Fall deeply, passionately, in Love with yourself. Discover for yourself that you are Love at your core. You can begin today with the simple practice of listing the things that are loveable about you. Be generous and kind to yourself. If you find this difficult, ask your friends what they love about you. And then take it in. Write it down and accept it as the truth.
